Despite Challenging Economic Environment, AEG Global Partnerships Sells All Suite Inventory In Los Angeles' Sports & Entertainment Landmark

February 16, 2010

STAPLES Center, considered one of the venue industry's most popular, profitable and exemplary arenas, continues to live up to its reputation with the announcement that once again, all of the arena's 150 luxury suites are fully leased for the current season.

Celebrating STAPLES Center's tenth anniversary while operating in the country's worst economic recession in decades, along with the added uncertainty of prospects for arena concert tours and other special events in the 2010 calendar year, the news that all of the suites have been sold is testament to the value owners place on programming, amenities, comfort and customer service provided by the STAPLES Center staff.

\"I think the reason that our suite owners are the most loyal and committed group of owners any arena in the Nation has is the fact that we continue to invest in booking the best schedule of concerts and special events that are on tour, in addition to our capital expense program that allows us to make state of the art improvements to the arena on an annual basis,\" commented Lee Zeidman, Sr. Vice President and General Manager, STAPLES Center. \"Combining our tremendous schedule of concerts with the NBA's Lakers looking every bit as strong as they were last season during their championship run; the Clippers, who we believe are on the verge of a break-out season and the NHL's hottest and most surprising team in the Kings, and the and you have the best package of sports and entertainment anywhere. Our guests continue to invest in us because they know that we are committed to maintaining our reputation as the industry's best,\" Zeidman added.

Sales of the Luxury Suites in addition to the arena's 2600 Premier (club) Seats are handled by AEG Global Partnerships in association with STAPLES Center's management. AEG Global Partnerships focuses on sponsorship and naming rights sales for all of AEG's 100 plus venues, live events and music properties Worldwide as well as servicing and activation of partnerships at all such AEG-owned or affiliated assets. In addition, AEG Global Partnerships oversees the sales of all premium seating categories at company-owned venues such as STAPLES Center.

\"The accomplishment of selling out all of STAPLES Center's Luxury Suites should never be taken for granted,\" said Shervin Mirhashemi, COO, AEG Global Partnerships. \"Our staff did a great job of creating a variety of sales platforms to best take advantage of all of the assets that STAPLES Center could offer including the unprecedented array of sporting and entertainment events, the arena staff's strong commitment to customer service and the amenities that only a facility like STAPLES Center could offer. Our efforts were also boosted by the over $10 million of facility improvements and upgrades installed last summer,\" Mirhashemi added.

STAPLES Center suite owners receive tickets in their suite for every public event held in STAPLES Center during their multi-year lease including all NBA, NHL and WNBA pre-season, regular and post-season games, concerts, family shows, annual events such as X Games and Pac 10 Basketball Tournament and special events such as boxing and tennis championships and lectures. Owners also receive the opportunity to purchase suites for \"one-time, special private events\" such as the annual Grammy Awards (held at STAPLES Center ten times in eleven years) and the 2011 NBA All-Star Game (returning to STAPLES Center an unprecedented second time in just seven years). STAPLES Center suite owners regularly have the opportunity to purchase special tickets to events at nearby AEG-operated venues such as Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE, Club Nokia and The Home Depot Center among others.

STAPLES Center, back-to-back recipients of the prestigious Pollstar-CIC Arena of the Year award, has clearly established itself as the Sports and Entertainment Center of the World. As the home of four professional sports franchises - the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers, the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks - STAPLES Center has proven to be a home court advantage for the local teams. STAPLES Center continues to distinguish itself as the host of major, high-profile events of national and international distinction including the 2004 NBA All-Star Game, the 2002 NHL All-Star Game, the 2000 Democratic National Convention and 2009 World Figure Skating Championships, nine Grammy Award shows as well as the annual X Games competitions and Pac-10 Men's Basketball Championship tournaments. STAPLES Center's ten years have also been marked with performances and special events that brought international stature to Los Angeles' sports & entertainment icon including concerts by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (who played the arena's first-ever public event on October 17, 1999), Prince, U2, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, Usher, Kanye West, Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake, as well as world championship boxing including Lennox Lewis vs. Vitali Klitschko for the World Heavyweight Championship. Hosting over 240 events a year, the arena's reputation for world-class amenities, features and commitment to quality of service and the guest experience is second to none.
