WHO:              Marsha Ambrosius, Antonique Smith, Kesington Kross and Candice will hit the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw - Outdoor Promenade stage this Saturday, June 7, 2014.

Marsha Ambrosius

One of the original BET Music Matters Artists hailing from the U.K., fans first got a taste of Marsha’s talent as the singing half of the duo Floetry. Since her number one charting debut solo album “Late Nights and Early Mornings,” went Gold, Marsha has gone on to do sold out tours as well as performances on BET Awards, Black Girls Rock and many other stages.  This summer, Marsha will release her highly anticipated sophomore album, Friends & Lovers featuring the lead single, “Run.” As a writer and producer, Marsha has worked with artists including Michael Jackson, Alicia Keys, Jamie Foxx and Solange. She is also featured on the Music Matters Compilation Vol. One available June 23 where she wrote and produced the Music Matters Theme Song as well as an exclusive record called “Friends and Lovers.” Marsha can be seen at the 2014 BET Experience at L.A. LIVE opening for Maxwell and Jill Scott at STAPLES Center on Friday, June 27.

Antonique Smith

Antonique is an actor, singer and writer most famous for her starring role of Faith Evans in the film "Notorious" where she received rave reviews.  Antonique first garnered attention in her buzz-worthy leading role in "Rent" on Broadway as Mimi Marquez.  Antonique had a featured role in the Golden Globe nominated "Across The Universe" and has also guest starred on numerous hit TV shows including Law & Order and HBO's “Bored To Death” and the Sidney Lumet directed "100 Centre Street."  Antonique is following the career path of Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross and Whitney Houston; pursuing a career in film while also continuing to make her dream of a Grammy-winning recording career into the most amazing of realities.

Kesington Kross

R&B artist Kesington Kross (aka Kes) was born in Los Angeles, California and spent much of his childhood in nearby Orange County.  A move to Compton fostered what he calls his fantasy life, as well as his interest in different art forms, including music.  His approach, inspired by contemporary R&B as well as classic funk (Rick James) and art rock (David Bowie) and synth pop (Depeche Mode), caught the attention of Babyface and L.A. Reid, and he signed to Epic, the label for which Reid was serving as CEO and chairman. In December 2013, Kesington Kross issued “Audio Justice,” a five-track EP, as a free download. Two months later, Epic issued one of its songs, "Gimme Your Love," as a proper single.

Candice

A southern California native, this 24-year-old songstress has worked and toured alongside the likes of NE-YO, David Guetta, Flo Rida and Eric Benet to name a few. In November of 2013, Candice released her critically acclaimed mixtape, Live from the Smoker’s Room, which garnered 300,000 plus streams via features on popular blog sites such as Live Mixtapes, Karen Civil, etc. She currently has a publishing deal with the Head of Worldwide A&R at Atlantic Records, Mike Caron, as well as a Production/Recording contract with Compound University, a subsidiary of three time Grammy Winner NE-YO’s Compound Entertainment.

Candice has allowed her voice to tread its course and plans to deliver her honest gift in its purest form through real, unfiltered music.
