L.A. LIVE and AEG Host America Recycles Day Event and Los Angeles' Official Recycling Location

In Partnership with NRDC and Keep California Beautiful AEG Announces 2020 AEG 1 EARTH Goals and Commitment to Sustainability And Releases First-of-Its-Kind Report


As part of America Recycles Day, a nationally recognized day for raising awareness on recycling and buying recycled materials, L.A. LIVE will launch its own public recycling program by hosting a public recycling collection of light bulbs, batteries and E-Waste (electronic items of all kind) with collectionsfrom 7:00am to 7:30pm and a recycling education fair from 3:00pm to 7:30pm. At the event, parent company, AEG, will also announce their 2020 AEG 1EARTH environmental goals, outlining the company's overall commitment to sustainability and reducing the environmental footprint of sports and entertainment venues worldwide. AEG's groundbreaking sustainability report includes Ecometrics from their owned and managed facilities including STAPLES Center, Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE, The Home Depot Center and Ontario's Citizens Business Bank Arena.

The public will be able to learn about recycling at interactive stations in L.A. LIVE hosted by Coke-Cola, Toyota, ESPN and Waste Management among others

L.A. LIVE will also be a collection location for the following items to be recycled:

  • Light bulbs
  • Batteries
  • Used sporting goods

E-waste items including:

  • Cell phones
  • CRT devices including older televisions and computer monitor
  • Desktop computer monitors, hard drives and Laptop Computer
  • Televisions (Plasma, LCD, CRT)
  • Portable electronics (DVD players, handheld video games, cd players
  • Cash registers and oscilloscopes containing CRTs
  • Computer keyboards, mouse and other peripherals
  • Telephones, cell phones, and answering machines
  • Stereo equipment, radios, tape and phonographs
  • Video cassette recorders and calculators
  • Microwave Ovens


Featured speakers include AEG CEO, Tim Leiweke, NRDC Senior Scientist Dr. Allen Hershkowitz, and Keep California Beautiful Executive Director, Christine Flowers.


Curbside e-waste and recycling drop off from 7:00am - 7:30pm

PRESS CONFERENCE - AEG/L.A. LIVE/STAPLES Center announcement and event kick off from 3:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m.

Recycling education fair from 3:00pm - 7:30pm

Interviews: AEG CEO, Tim Leiweke, NRDC Senior Scientist Dr. Allen Hershkowitz, and Keep California Beautiful Executive Director, Christine Flowers will be available immediately after speaking (around 3:20pm) for interviews.


Donations can be dropped off curbside at Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE. Enter Chick Hearn Court from Figueroa and 11th Streets only.
