LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Kings will open the 2010-11 season with a two-game road before hosting the Atlanta Thrashers (Oct. 12), Vancouver Canucks (Oct. 15) and Carolina Hurricanes (Oct. 20) at STAPLES Center as part of a three-game homestand, the Kings and the NHL announced today.  The Kings will open the season on the road at Vancouver (Oct. 9) and at Calgary (Oct. 10).

Individual ticket information for all Kings games at STAPLES Center will be go on sale later this summer.  Group tickets and the Kings' 'Plan for Every Fan' are now available for purchase by calling 1-888-KINGS-LA (1-888-54647-52) and by visiting LAKings.com.  The Kings' television and radio schedules will be announced later this summer as well.  The club's preseason schedule was released yesterday.

The Kings play 11 games in October including four at home.  After playing the Canucks in Vancouver to start the season, the Kings will host them at STAPLES Center on October 15 as part of a re-match from last year's first round NHL Stanley Cup Playoff series.  In November, the Kings open with four home games as part of a five-game homestand.  The Kings also that month host the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks on November 27.

The month of December features 14 games, the most the Kings will play in a month (March also features 14 games).  On December 26, the Kings host the Ducks for the first time.  The first seven games in January will be at STAPLES Center and six of the contests are against Western Conference clubs.  January also features games against the Toronto Maple Leafs (January 10) and the Boston Bruins (January 26).

In February the Kings will play 13 games - including 10 on the road.  The month kicks-off with a three game road trip to Minnesota, Edmonton and Calgary, then the NHL All-Star break occurs, and then the Kings leave for a six-game road trip on the East Coast which begins at Pittsburgh on February 10 and ends against the New York Rangers on February 19.  Upon returning home, the Kings play at Anaheim on February 23 before starting a six-game homestand which closes out February and begins March.

During the final two months of the regular season - March and April - the Kings play 11 games at home compared to eight games on the road.  Over the club's final 22 games, 14 of them are at STAPLES Center.

The season ends with a home-and-home two game set against the Ducks, April 8 at Honda Center and April 9 at STAPLES Center.
