LOS ANGELES, July 22 - Summer's here and the time is right for more of boxing's hit series \"Fight Night Club,\" as Golden Boy Promotions and AEG present another hard-hitting card featuring talented up-and-comers Ronny Rios, Jamie Kavanagh and Roberto Reyes on Thursday, August 26 at L.A. LIVE's Club Nokia.
In the main event, Santa Ana's Rios battles the Dominican Republic's Leivi Brea in a six round junior lightweight bout.
With a record of 11-0 with 5 KO's, 20-year-old junior lightweight prospect Ronny Rios has found a home at Club Nokia, as he's scored three victories at \"Fight Night Club\" series over the last year. In May, Rios moved across the street to STAPLES Center and kept his winning streak going with a six round win over Guadalupe De Leon and it's probably not the last time we'll be seeing this talented youngster on the big stage.Â
A native of the Dominican Republic who now fights out of Miami, southpaw Leivi Brea (18-8-3, 10 KO's) has not only faced top-notch foes like Juan Manuel Lopez, Jhonny Gonzalez and Gary Stark Jr., but he is also on a two-fight winning streak that has seen him stop both of his opponents. On August 26, he's got Ronny Rios in his sights as he aims for his third straight win.
One of the top prospect to emerge from Ireland in years, 20-year-old Jamie \"The Nuisance\" Kavanagh (2-0, 1 KO) has gotten his pro career off to an impressive start in 2010 with two big victories including a June win over Luis Sanchez at \"Fight Night Club.\"Â Next month, the former amateur star who is under the watch of famed trainer, Freddie Roach, attempts to keep his record perfect.
Lancaster junior middleweight Roberto \"Little Dog\" Reyes (2-0, 2 KO's) made his debut on the Club Nokia stage in April and after an exciting battle with Azamat Umarzade that earned him a first round TKO victory, he matched that result in June when he halted previously unbeaten Clint Coronel in a single frame. On August 26, he looks to make it three fast finishes in a row.
A stacked undercard including two amateur bouts and opponents for Kavanagh and Reyes will be announced at a later date.
\"Fight Night Club\" is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and AEG and is sponsored by DeWalt Tools, McDonald's, Budweiser, Powerade, LightsLeary.com and USTREAM. The series will return to L.A.
