L.A. LIVE, Los Angeles' new destination for music, dining, sports and living debuts this December, 2008. The four million square foot sports, residential and entertainment district, adjacent to STAPLES Center and the Los Angeles Convention Center, will be southern California's new home of live performances and events of all kinds.

L.A. LIVE debuts its entertainment and dining locations to the public with these exciting offerings:
November - Club Nokia, Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge and New Zealand Natural Ice Cream open
December - Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, The Farm of Beverly Hills, Rock'N Fish, Starbucks, Yard House, Conga Room, ESPN Zone, Lawry's Carvery and The GRAMMY MuseumSM open
Early (2009) - Katsuya, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, Rosa Mexicano and Trader Vic's open

THE LIGHT OF THE ANGELS - FREE Multi-media Light Show Nightly

Beginning December 5th, visitors can celebrate the Grand Opening of L.A. LIVE with a FREE holiday multi-media spectacular, The Light of the Angels, on Nokia Plaza. Capturing the unique spirit of City of the Angels, The Light of the Angels multi-cultural, multi-ethnic holiday celebration with performances will run nightly December 4 - 31 at 7, 8, 9 and 10 PM. The 7-minute program will combine lights, video creations, live performances and never-before-seen special effects to create a holiday show that will become a new tradition and L.A. LIVE's gift to the City. Key elements include:

  • A 37,500 lb. tree will soar 52 feet above Nokia Plaza covered with 11,000 XL Sphere LED lights (the only 360-degree lightsource in the world)
  • Every night, a multi-dimensional light display combining both holiday music and advanced techno-artistry will grace the L.A. skyline at 7:00, 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00 pm PST
  • 11 giant video screens envelop the plaza with state-of-the-art sounds and lights

HOLIDAY DÉCOR

The South Park district surrounding L.A. LIVE will become one of the most colorful, creative and entertaining destinations for holiday lights and decor in southern California. Guests will be greeted by ten-foot tall LED angels mounted on light poles throughout the district which will also include more than 150 trees draped with LED \"Snowfall\" lights to create a vibrant entrance to L.A. LIVE.
