AEG Facilities Expands its Reach to Five Continents and Will Operate Future 2014 FIFA World Cupâ„¢ Stadium in the Metropolitan Recife, Brazil Area

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. (Tuesday, June 15, 2010) - AEG Facilities has entered into an agreement to join Odebrecht Participações e Investimentos and Odebrecht Serviços de Engenharia e Construção in association with ISG (International Stadia Group) to establish Cidade de Copa Consortium, a partnership which will be contracted for the construction and operation of the Pernambuco Stadium in São Lourenço da Mata, situated in the metropolitan Recife area in Brazil. The 45,000-seat multi-use stadium is part of Pernambuco State's Cidade de Copa, or 'City of the Cup,' project for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which also includes an urban residential and business complex.

The bid process for Pernambuco Stadium, administered by the State of Pernambuco, started at the beginning of the year, and construction is planned to be completed by the end of 2012. International venue construction company Odebrecht enlisted AEG Facilities as venue partner, to provide management and event programming support for the stadium, which will be AEG's first entry into the South American continent, and expands its venue presence across five continents. In addition to the 2014 World Cup, the 45,000-seat multi-purpose venue will host other international soccer tournaments and sporting events, plus concerts, family shows, special events and conventions.

\"We look forward to operating the new Pernambuco Stadium, and working with our partners, Odebrecht, ISG and the State of Pernambuco as this project gets underway,\" said Bob Newman, AEG Facilities Chief Operating Officer. \"As AEG Facilities continues to expand our reach across the globe, the Cidade de Copa project will generate a new urban center in the metropolitan Recife area, and help bring the community additional revenue streams as it prepares and welcomes the world to Brazil for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.\"

Pernambuco Stadium in Recife is one of twelve planned host venues that will be upgraded or constructed for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, which will be the first World Cup in Brazil in 60 years, and the first staged in South America since the 1978 FIFA World Cup in Argentina.

Recife, or 'reef' in Portuguese, is named for its coastal location in the Northeast region of Brazil, with two major international ports on the Atlantic Ocean and a population of 3.8 million. Home to coral reefs, small islands and bridges, the metropolitan region of Recife is the fifth most populous region in Brazil. Recife is known for its commercial center in the State of Pernambuco, plus modern hospitals, advances in the information technology sector and its growing tourism business.

The 617-acre project is part of the State of Pernambuco's Cidade de Copa project, which also includes a complex of approximately nine thousand residential units and business structures, located in an area where the municipalities of Recife, Jaboatão dos Guararapes and Camaragibe meet.
