Moscow/London, Thursday 12 April, 2012 - AEG Facilities, the world's premier international sports, entertainment and venue organization, and Russia's ZAO Rusinkom today announced they have signed a long-term, multi-year exclusive agreement in which AEG Facilities will provide the Russian development company with consultation for pre-opening design and venue operations for the sports, concert and entertainment arena complex planned as part of the 'Galactica Park' Moscow development.
AEG will provide consultation services for the design, development and operations of the planned 20,000 seated capacity multi-use arena, which will host concert, professional hockey and other sports events, family shows, conferences and exhibitions. Under the agreement, AEG Facilities will provide significant expertise from their new arena developments throughout Europe including The O2 in London and O2 World Berlin. AEG will support Galactica Park arena operations through AEG's professional and comprehensive venue services which will include identifying naming rights and sponsorship opportunities, development of ticketing, venue programming and marketing initiatives, sales of VIP suites, arena management and operational support.
Scheduled to open in 2018, Galactica Park will be the home to attractions which include a 150,000 square meter indoor Universal Studios theme park, an indoor Universal Studios water park, Universal CityWalk dining, shopping and entertainment complex, two hotels with 1100 room capacity, 250 meter-tall office towers, a 120,000 square meter retail shopping complex and four levels of underground parking. The development will be also serviced by metro and bus stations. Galactica Park will be conveniently located at the intersection of the MKAD Ring Road and Varshavskoye Shosse in the south section of Moscow.
AEG and ZAO Rusinkom are working with a number of international arena architects to design what will become one of the world's major international entertainment destinations.
