LOS ANGELES (April 25, 2012) - DFS Group (DFS), who operates the Duty Free concession at Los Angeles World Airports (LAX) and Los Angeles-based AEG have entered into a strategic alliance to promote each other's brands across a wide variety of venues, duty free outlets and properties the companies control worldwide, it was announced by Tim Leiweke of AEG and Polly Nelson of DFS.

The broad and strategic relationship between the world's leading duty free retailer and leading operators of stadiums, arenas and other venues will enable the organizations to collaborate on a variety of initiatives to both enhance sales performance and optimize customer satisfaction at locations operated by both of the companies. The alliance will also seek to develop platforms for DFS and AEG to globally market specific destinations in regions where the organizations share operations – specifically LAX. LAX services departing passengers in eight terminals with more than 1,000 weekly flights on 75 airlines to 66 international destinations. DFS has been operating the duty free concession and delivering the needs of the international traveler for more than 30 years. Both companies understand that LAX is the gateway to the Pacific Rim. The alliance will work to strengthen LAX's position as the destination of choice for international travelers by providing them the best experiences while in Los Angeles and upon departure, at one of DFS' 11 duty free stores.

The first collaboration will take place in Los Angeles where AEG developed and manages L.A. LIVE and STAPLES Center, which combined attract 20 million guests annually and where DFS operates 11 outlets containing over 25,000 square feet of retail space serving over eight million international passengers per year.

"Because of the shared philosophies and commonalities which already exist, our alliance with AEG makes great business sense for DFS;" said Polly Nelson, Managing Director North America , DFS. "As a globally renowned company, who has made Los Angeles and LAX a cornerstone to our business, having the opportunity to associate ourselves with AEG, another respected and very well-known global organization who also believes in the importance and vision for Los Angeles, seemed to be a natural fit. Working together, our access to international travelers and our shared interests to promote and market Los Angeles will clearly result in bringing new visitors and revenue through LAX and into Los Angeles."

As part of the agreement, both DFS and AEG will have the ability to develop marketing and promotional materials featuring both of their organizations' brands, beginning with DFS' popular Los Angeles International Airport location.

"DFS's thorough knowledge of the behavior and practices of international travelers make them the perfect partner for AEG as we look to attract more international visitors to Los Angeles," said, Timothy J. Leiweke, President & CEO, AEG. "Nearly every sector of our City relies on and benefits from the travel and tourism industry and our shared commitment with DFS to helping this sector continue to grow through an expanded and modern Los Angeles International Airport, innovative international marketing ideas and promoting the lifestyle and opportunities for tourists coming to L.A. will make this partnership a win-win-win for both of our companies and this City."
