BET Experience Youth Program
The BET Experience at L.A. LIVE is an exciting three-day festival featuring a number of exciting performances at various L.A. LIVE venues from June 28-30, 2013 and will be capped off by the BET award show which will be held at the NOKIA Theatre on June 30th. This exciting weekend is comprised of several moving parts including an open to the public Fan Fest, free moving screenings at Regal Cinemas, concerts at Club Nokia and The BET Experience Youth Program.
The BET Experience Youth Program is a program designed to educate high school students, ages 16-18, from local communities about the various aspects of the music industry. These students will spend three days, June 28-30th, at L.A. LIVE learning about careers in music including event production, music journalism, as well as the history and impact of African American culture in music, and much more in this hands-on educational experience.
Throughout the three days, 40 selected students will tour the GRAMMY Museum with a special curated tour of the BET Awards Lifetime Achievement Awardees Exhibit; learn first-hand from large scale producers and industry executives about event production and the music business, watch up and coming artists perform live; and several other incredible opportunities!
BET and AEG encourages all qualified students to apply for the BET Experience Youth Program. Please read below for qualification requirements:
Note: The deadline for applications has expired.
• Students must be between the ages of 16-18
• Reside in Los Angeles County
• Have a strong interest in music/entertainment
• Include a letter of recommendation from a teacher with application
• Compose a 1-2 page essay on the history of African American music and its impact on their lives
